Lauren Ash Morgan, born in 1981, and a board member of the SSC's Board of Directors since the year 2011, was the founding co-artistic directors for Speech of Fire. The producer was also, costume/set designer, composer/musician and text coach for SSC when she was the Artistic Director of SSC. Though generally leading from within the ensemble of actors during her last year, she was able to make her debut as a director (and lighting designer) for the SSC's King Lear.
