Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, the singer has done work all over the world. Sunshine's given title is Denise White. Although she lives in Atlanta, she originates in Chester Pennsylvania where she began the musical path by singing as well as playing the piano at the church. She went to Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music in Atlanta's R&B scene. The Fighting Temptations The single that featured her vocals,"Stalk You the House, was released only in Japan. It's been remixed several times, and has become a staple of her live show. The voice of hers was featured in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was commissioned as the primary keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls show during Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained attention in the performances that took place over four days of 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine sang during Barack Obama's Inauguration in 2009.
